If you haven't been to Annalynn Boutique at 125 West Main Street in Ligonier, here's a peek inside that's bound to inspire a visit!
Annalynn Boutique is owned and operated by Lynn Brown - a lovely, warm and welcoming person who studied marketing and merchandising at the Art Institute of Pittsburgh. After earning her degree, she married, started a family, and was a stay-at-home mother for a long while, always knowing that one day she'd realize her dream of owning a store. That day came four years ago, when she and her husband bought the building that houses two storefronts. She was convinced that it was truly meant to be when her realtor scheduled them to sign the papers for the sale of the building on the day of her grandmother Anna's birthday. Anna was always a very special person in Lynn's life. They lived next door to each other as she grew up and maintained a close relationship. Lynn says that instead of just giving things to her grandchildren, Anna gave something so much more valuable - her time. Lynn credits her grandmother with feeding her creative side and helping to set the direction she went with her life.
Lynn has a discerning eye when choosing the products that blanket the walls and tables in her store - everything is artfully displayed and positioned with thought and care. It takes several walks around the store to take in all of the details because it is so well-stocked with many unique and interesting gifts.
Not only is Lynn thoughtful about the artistic arrangement of her products, she also is very conscious of including items that give back to charitable organizations. Her Love Your Melon beanie hats are very popular, and 50% of the proceeds go to pediatric cancer research. By her register you'll find a bowl of unique hair ties called Teleties, which give a portion of their proceeds to Lyme Disease research. Many of her products that come from other countries are Certified Fair Trade items as well.
Annalynn Boutique offers items for women, children, infants, and even pets! Some of Lynn's favorite products in the boutique are Jellycat stuffed animals (which look great in Easter baskets!), Aden + Anais baby items, Kate Spade stationery and accessories, and Chan Luu jewelry. One of my personal favorites that I've bought several times are her 'Library of Flowers' hand cream tins. They offer delicious aromas like Honeycomb, and the smell lingers nicely for hours after application.
Here, it's all about the thoughtful details. For the mother with a few little children in tow, Lynn has a sweet little table and chairs set up in the back of the store with legos and coloring books! (This proved invaluable while we interviewed her for this feature!) Lynn says that her favorite part about being a merchant in the lovely town of Ligonier is that it gives her a chance to get to know so many people. She's become good friends with many of her repeat customers over the years. After meeting Lynn, it's not hard to imagine how this happened! She has a way with people, really helping her customer to feel at home in her 'home away from home'.
